Custom Positions

Quickly align shapes to up to four saved positions.

Best practice

This feature is especially useful when aligning shapes across multiple slides.

Saving custom positions

No custom position is currently saved

To save a custom position select a single shape and CTRL + Click on one of the four number bubbles in the ribbon. The bubble will turn red to indicate that a custom position was successfully saved.

Custom position 2 has a saved position

To apply a custom position, select one or more individual shapes and click on the respective number bubble in the ribbon.

The shapes will align to the top left corner of the saved position. If you need more flexibility regarding positioning check out the Snapshot Align feature.

If you want to apply the positioning as well as the size of the saved custom position, select one or more individual shapes, hold the SHIFT button and click.

To clear a custom position, click on the respective number bubble while no shape is currently selected.

Note that the custom positions are saved to the presentation, i.e., they will be available the next time you start PowerPoint.
